As many of the people that know me well already know, I have big school and career plans.
I would like to go to Yale and Yale Med School and go on to be a Pediatrician at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
I have wanted to be a doctor for some time now. But I have a problem:
Many people I've told my plans to have said, "Yale? Really? You do realize that you live in Greeneville, TN, right?
This can be crushing to dreams, if you don't know. But I try to stay strong because I know I can make it.
I also have another problem:
I am a little broke.
Considering Yale will cost me about $70,00 per year just going through college is a bit of a dilemma.
So I have come to this conclusion:
I would like to get into Yale, but I may not end up going there. I will go to a different college, that of which I can get a full scholarship to.
Many have asked this: "So, if you're wanting to go to Yale, what would you're second choice be? Harvard? Stanford? Princeton?"
And I reply, "No, my second choice would be the University of Tennessee Knoxville."
UT has been a bit of a home to me in my growing up process. If I did not go to Yale, I would definitely want to UT.
But which ever college I go to, I want to end up helping children as a Pediatric Doctor, working at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, living in Nashville or Williamson County.
I may have big aspirations, but I know I can make it.
